This would be Gallego's third season with the club. Upon his arrival in the 2018-19 season, Gallego had immediately taken ISL by storm. On his debut against FC Goa in a home match, he scored the opening goal for the home team courtesy a schoolboy error from FC Goa's teenage custodian Mohammad Nawas. Gallego scored 4 goals and assisted another 5 in his debut season. With Bartholomew Ogbeche, he formed one of the most dangerous frontline pairs in the league to lead NEUFC into its first ever playoffs that season. However, in the second leg of semis he suffered a serious injury which kept him away from the game for a long time because of his operation following the injury and the recuperation period thereafter. During that whole time, the fans stayed glued to Fede's insta stories to keep track of his progress to match fitness. After missing the first half of his second season with NEUFC because of the injury, he came back, scored once and provided an assist.

Gallego has represented NorthEast in 30 matches so far, and his continuation with the Highlanders assures some flamboyant football ahead for the club. Highlander Brigade is really excited to welcome Gallego back to India. We convey our best wishes to Gallego for another season with us and hope that the hardworking lad would take his game to the next level this year.

Good Luck Fede!!
